Last Saturday between 90 and 100 current and former
Parishioners as well as friends from all over the Rand and Walbundrie (and Howlong)
districts and further abroad attended
the last scheduled Mass at our Rand Church.
The Mass was concelebrated by Most Reverend, Bishop Gerard
Hanna D.D. as the principal celebrant and assisted by Fathers John Speekman and
Joel Wallace, Administrator and former Parish Priest respectively. Newly
appointed Deacon, Tony Oboshi was also present.
A feature of the Mass was the attendance of 17 children, seen
pictured on the front page of this issue of the bulletin. Afterwards, a farewell dinner was held at the Rand Bowling
Club which was a great success.
Our thanks to Bill Nesbitt, President of the Club (and
Walbundrie Parishioner) for the lovely meal, especially the sweets, which were
very popular for dieters and non- dieters alike).
After Mass Bishop Hanna said that although there would be no further scheduled Masses in the Church it would remain available for use for occasional needs Rand parishioners might propose.
